About Stephen

Stephen Maida founded Discount Property Taxes in 2010 and has spent more than 16 years protesting property tax valuations across Central Texas. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, he brings experience from both sides of real estate — development, construction, sales, property management, and development consulting for residential and commercial projects.

As a licensed Texas Realtor, Stephen has direct access to the Austin MLS for comparable sales and rent data, along with long-standing relationships with brokers across the market. He maintains an ongoing database of residential and commercial comparables and pairs it with detailed financial models to argue his clients' valuations down as low as the evidence supports — for homeowners, investors and large institutional assets alike.
