Discount Property Taxes is owned by Stephen Maida. Mr. Maida is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. He has over 15 years experience protesting property tax values. In addition to experience protesting taxes, Mr. Maida has extensive experience in real estate development, construction, sales, property management, and development consulting for both residential and commercial real estate projects. This knowledge of multiple disciplines gives Mr. Maida a unique advantage against the opposition (the county tax appraisers). We handle both residential and commercial real estate property tax protests (including large institutional assets).

Mr. Maida is a licensed Realtor, giving him access to the Austin Multiple Listing Service (MLS) comparable sales data and rent data (used to evaluate income producing property). He has long term relationships with numerous brokers.  Mr. Maida maintains an ongoing database of both residential and commercial comparable sales to use along with complex financial models to argue your tax valuations down as LOW AS POSSIBLE.
